I was born in New Orleans where I lived
until I was 15 years old. I was heavily influenced by the
culture especially the people and the music. As a young boy
my mother and I would take the street car to the flea market
in the French Quarter on the weekends. I was inspired by the
street musicians and tap dancers, some of them as young or
younger than me. After 30 years I've finally come back
home to New Orleans to reestablish my roots.
Northeast Texas is home several months out of the year....
I have a long
history in Northwest Louisiana as well as Northeast Texas...
I consider myself fortunate through the years to have been
exposed to the rich musical history both have to offer. After years of travel and much searching I've settled into a
style of my own accented by my influences. My sound is
typical of country, folk and blues with soulful sound.
My First Concert ... when I was 6 years old,
while visiting relatives, my Mother took me to see Johnny
Cash at the Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport, Louisiana.
I must have been star struck without knowing because all I
wanted to do after was sing and pretend to play guitar.
And
yes !!! Johnny was dressed in black that night.
Now that I'm older, looking back I believe I've always had
passion for music. After years of procrastination and
years of writing songs and playing I am
finally doing what God intended me to do... tell stories and
send a message in the form of a song. So here I come! |
